女優の佐藤仁美が結婚式を間近に控えた女性を演じ、日本の家族制度の抱える光と闇を描いたヒューマンドラマ「惑う After the Rain」の予告編が完成。映画.comがいち早く入手した。あわせて同作が、7月22日から韓国ソウルで開催される「ソウル九老国際児童映画祭2016」の長編コンペティション部門に出品されることが決まった。 同作は、北野武や黒沢清の下で助監督として経験を積み、「ふるさとがえり」「空飛ぶ金魚と世界のひみつ」などを手がけてきた林弘樹の5作目の長編監督作で、静岡県三島市の市民参加型映画プロジェクトの一環として、「NPO法人みしまびと」が中心となって製作。地方創生の取り組みとしても注目を集めている一作だ。 昭和55年のある冬の夜、結婚式を明日に控えた石川いずみ（佐藤）は、母のイト（宮崎美子）から亡き父・誠志郎（小市慢太郎）の思いを聞かされる。そして結婚式の日、美しい白無垢の花嫁になったいずみと、振袖姿で参列する妹かえで（中西美帆）の姿を見つめるイトの心には、亡き夫と娘2人と4人で暮らした日々がよみがえる。予告編には、懐かしい昭和の家族の姿とともに、主題歌となる手嶌葵の「家族の風景」が流れ、普遍的な親子の物語を彩る。 ソウル九老国際児童映画祭は、「映画を通じて子どもとコミュニケーションし、夢を育てる」という趣旨で2013年からスタートし、今年で4回目を迎える映画祭。これまでアニメ作品などで日本映画が出品されたことはあるが、実写長編作品がコンペティション部門に出品されるのは、今回が初めて。長女いずみを演じた主演の佐藤は、「人は親、姉妹、友達と様々な立場である事が当たり前なわけですが、改めて考えさせられました。周りの人達への考え方や接し方、思いやり、感謝。その人達のおかげで生かされているんだと思って演じました」と撮影を通して抱いた気持ちを語り、映画祭への出品を受け「必ず伝わると思います。私が思う映画のテーマは『思いやり』でした。改めて『家族』を想う機会になれば幸いです」と話している。 妹役の中西も「家族という普遍的なテーマは国内外を問わず全ての方の琴線に触れ、必ず楽しんで頂けると思います」と語り、2人の母を演じた宮崎も「ひとつの家族の物語を心を込めて丁寧に描くことで、人と人が支えあうことの尊さを伝えられたらと思います」とコメントを寄せている。 「惑う After the Rain」は、ご当地の静岡県で11月に先行公開。17年1月から東京・有楽町スバル座ほかにて全国公開。
